About Our Founder
Meet Heather
Heather is the founder of Forest Kids, who has 25 years of experience in childcare settings, primarily in Little Darlings Creche in South County Dublin.
She has attained an N.N.E.B. (DYCA Equivalent) qualification in childcare. She is a specialist in outdoor and backwoods pursuits and has a current qualification in Remote Emergency Care (REC 3) First Aid.
Her motivation for starting Forest Adventures is to get children back in the outdoors enjoying fresh air andlearning by doing.
Heather is also Bushcraft Trained level 3, trained with John Ryder at Woodcraft School.
Bushcraft is the study of traditional outdoor living skills and crafts. We teach Fire, Water, Shelter and Tool use . Also covering knowledge of the environment and plants and trees found there. Flora and Fauna are also a big part of your natural environment.
Heather is qualified as a Forest School Leader. Using these skills to provide an educational exciting time in the outdoors.

Forest School is an innovative process that offers ALL learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self esteem through hands on learning in a woodland or natural environment.
Heather is a trained Leave No Trace trainer and can teach one-day Awareness Courses which are for those wishing to learn more about the 7 principles .
She also facilitates Training Courses ( 2 days) for those who wish to go on and teach awareness courses. All accredited.
She is also an adult volunteer in a National Youth movement.
Travelling the world in the last 20 years giving life experiences to teenagers. Attending events representing Ireland.
